• Do not attempt to recover the data yourself, more damage may occur or potentially recoverable data may be overwritten.
• If you think you have a failing hard drive, do not keep switching the computer off and on again, as this could make the situation worse!
• Instead, do close down the computer in the normal way and record any unusual events or noises and contact a data recovery specialist as soon as possible.
• If your hard disk drive is subject to liquid, such as water, alcohol or moisture we advise that you place it in a sealed plastic bag and do not attempt to dry the hard disk drive out as this is likely to cause damage to the internal components through oxidisation.
